About

Full Metal Pixel is a retro-styled, story-based action/adventure twin stick shooter. Whew! That’s a mouthful.

Think Robotron 2084/SmashTV + a little bit of SNES-era Zelda and you’d be on the right track.

Full Metal Pixel started life as a Unity3D demo project for the Brooklyn Design & Technology Meetup (BKTK) back in January, 2011. Since then, it’s grown from a small 3-day demo project into a large, expansive world.

Development has arrived at the point where it’s become an honest-to-goodness fun game to play, and we’re ready to make a mad dash for completion over the next few months.

We’re going to try to get funding through Kickstarter, and I’m hoping to get that up soon. There’s going to be lots of cool stuff for those who donate (in addition to receiving game access before anyone else!), and we’ll be announcing all of that as soon as everything is finalized.

Why so retro?

Well, why not? When you strip away all the pretty graphics, it’s still gotta be fun and engaging to the player. Of course, we’ll do everything we can to make it look as awesome as it plays – but Full Metal Pixel is being made by people who miss the tight control and challenging nature of classic games, and we won’t stop working until it feels juuuust right.
